Tastigold is a round yellow fleshed watermelon with a gray rind. Average weight 22-24 pounds. In Willhite’s taste test the past two years, Tastigold was equal to or superior to Tendergold in taste. The flesh is very firm and crisp. A small percentage of red flesh melons and an occasional stripe may be found. Procedures to eliminate this are under way.
